Each UK institution sets its own acceptance criteria

UK institutions each apply their own acceptance criteria to certified translations, and a document that satisfies one body may be rejected by another. The following checklist reflects the standards G Translation applies to every certified Turkish translation we deliver, helping you prepare a complete submission. The receiving institution determines whether its requirements are met.

The compliance checklist

  • Full and faithful rendering — every name, date, stamp, seal, and handwritten annotation on the source document must appear in the translation, with nothing omitted or summarised.
  • Visual layout preserved — the translation should mirror the structure of the original so an official can cross-reference fields at a glance.
  • Translator credentials recorded — the name, qualification, and signature of the responsible translator must be clearly stated.
  • Statement of Accuracy included — a formal declaration confirming the translation is a true and accurate rendering of the original, signed and dated.
  • Contact details provided — so the receiving institution can verify the translation directly with the translator if required.
  • Correct target language direction — confirm whether the institution requires Turkish-to-English or English-to-Turkish, and that the certified copy matches.

Checked before release

These elements are commonly requested by the Home Office, UK universities, HMRC, courts and other institutions. Missing information may lead to a request for clarification or correction, so our London team checks each item before release. For matters going to court, our guide to why legal English–Turkish translation demands specialist expertise explains the evidentiary standard.
